To reduce eddy current loss, laminated magnets produced by magnet segmentation technology are also used in assemblies.

A revolving body held steady by a bearing is called a rotor. The primary element of high speed rotation in power and working machinery, including motors, generators, gas turbines, and turbine compressors, is the permanent magnet rotor. The two different rotor types are cage type and phase wound type. DC power supply stimulates the rotor winding. At the rotor's core, the field winding creates a steady magnetic field.
